Cheesy Pasta Vegie Bake

1 1/2 cups broccoli

1 1/2 cups cauliflower

2 1/2 cup uncooked pasta

Sauce:

1/3 cup flour

1/3 cup butter

3 cup milk

3/4 cup parmesan cheese

1 tsp salt

1/2 tsp garlic salt

1/8 tsp nutmeg

1/8 tsp thyme

1 1/2 cup cheddar cheese

Cook pasta, broccoli and cauliflower as desired.  Mix when done.

Sauce:  Combine first 3 ingredients and bring to a boil to thicken.  Add remaining ingredients. 

Combine pasta, broccoli, cauliflower, and sauce.  Pour into 9 x 13 pan and sprinkle with more cheese if wanted.

Bake at 350F for 20 minutes.

 

Note:  If desired you can add 1/2 cup crumbled bacon, or 1 cup diced chicken to this dish to make it not a vegetarian dish.
